Infectious Disease   

Infectious diseases can be transmitted through unhygienic equipment and practices used during:

  • Ear piercing
  • Body piercing
  • Tattooing  
  • Beauty treatment
  • Hairdressing

It is critical when a complaint is received relating to an outbreak of infectious disease, that the council is contacted immediately for investigation.


Complaint details required:

  • Name 
  • Address 
  • Telephone 
  • Full details of the place or premises concerned (name, address and shop name) 
  • Details of your complaint

If you are concerned that you may have an infectious disease, you should see your local doctor immediately. If necessary, the doctor will contact the Council's Environmental Health Unit.

Human Services Communicable Diseases

The City of Greater Dandenong receives a quarterly report from the Department of Human Services with notifications of relevant infectious diseases.
