Council's Asset Management Services serves the community by managing the city's road, drainage and footpath network; parks, recreational and sporting facilities; and vehicle fleet.
Asset Management Services is responsible for the maintenance of the city's 638km of roads, 905km of piped drains, 34,600 drainage pits, 101km open drains, 67 bridges and major culverts, 1049km foot and bike path, 50,000 street trees, 73 sports grounds, 106 play grounds, 580 hectares of open space (excluding parkland in new subdivisions), and 270 plant items.
Council also provide a 24 hour, seven day emergency service, and is responsible for all inspections related to vehicular crossings, road and nature strip openings and pre-building footpath inspections.
Asset Management Services aims to achieve improved safety, functionality and lengthen the life of community assets.
