In addition to using your household waste collection service, there are many ways you can manage your waste - and even reduce it! A lot of things we throw away can sometimes be avoided, used again or composted.
Food waste could be composted, or avoided in the first place through meal planning or creating a shopping listCheck out our composting and worm farming page for some great tips on starting a compost
Garden waste could be composted, or placed into your garden waste bin
Recyclables could be reused or placed into your recycling bin
Other waste such as mobile phones and polystyrene could be taken to a drop off point or waste and recycling disposal centre to be recycledGo to our 'waste and recycling disposal centres' page for a list of local centres and what can be disposed of for free.
Office waste can be reused, recycled or even made into other materials. Check out the Business Recycling website for more information.
