Website Features

The City of Greater Dandenong website has been built has on the community's feedback and ideas.

It has a range of features to make it easier for you to connect with Council and your community.

Below is an outline of the website's main features.

Easy to follow menus

Your home page has everything you need right at your fingertips under four main areas:

  • Work – information on support for local businesses, working for Council, volunteering, tenders and contracts
  • Play – discover our many leisure facilities, parks, playgrounds and cultural precincts
  • Your Council – all the nuts and bolts of Council including your councillors, policies, statistics, Council meetings and more

The website has a translated section with information on waste, rates, pets, fines and library services and more in Arabic, Cantonese, Dari, Greek, Italian, Khmer, Mandarin, Serbian and Vietnamese.

Quick links to what you need most

We know that many of you are busy and don't have time to dig through a website to find basic information.

The Pay, Report, Apply sections on the home page to make online payments, reporting issues and applications quick and easy.

The 'Locate' section features a Google Maps© tool, where you can search for local services and facilities (see next section for more information).

We also understand that many people don't like searching through a website, so the 'A-Z of Services' lets you jump straight to the web pages about Council's main services.

You can access these directly from the home page.

Explore your neighbourhood with our mapping tool

The map section of the website lets you use Google Maps© to explore your neighbourhood. You can search in two ways:

  • Select a category and/or keyword to find local sites of interest (e.g. parks, leisure centres, schools)
  • Select a region to see what ward you are in, who your Councillors are, or your waste collection days

Once you have searched, you can also enter your address to see how close these locations are to your home, workplace, or any other location!

Go to the mapping tool

Shortcuts to what interests you most

We keep track of what pages you access the most and have shortcuts to a number of them on the home page, so you don't have to search for your favourite sections.

We will change these shortcuts over time - as certain sections become more popular or if we want to highlight a section to make it easier for you to find.

'Tell Us' panel to make it easier to give us your feedback

We value your feedback and would hate for you to miss the chance to have your say because you couldn't information on the website!

Our 'Tell Us' panel on the home page will let you know what is currently open for community consultation and many will have online forms to make submitting feedback nice and easy.

We've also have an online report form, so if you see something broken, missing or in need of Council’s attention you can tell us straight away. Once you submit a report, you will be assigned a confirmation number so you can track its progress.
