Greater Dandenong Green Wedge
The Greater Dandenong Green Wedge is located in the middle of the broader ‘South East Green Wedge’ which extends from Clarinda in the City of Kingston through to Cranbourne South in the City of Casey. The green wedge makes up 29 per cent of the total area of the City of Greater Dandenong.
The Green Wedge includes all land outside the Urban Growth Boundary in the City of Greater Dandenong, and covers a total of 3,741.3 hectares.

Green Wedge Management Plan (December 2014)
At it's meeting on 8 December 2014, Council adopted the Green Wedge Management Plan (December 2014). Council also resolved to seek authorisation from the Minister for Planning to prepare Amendment C143 to the Greater Dandenong Planning Scheme.
As part of this process, Council also authorised the notification of the amendment to all relevant parties as required by the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and regulations once Ministerial Authorisation has been granted.
Ministerial Authorisation (with no conditions attached) for the Amendment was received from the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) on 3 December 2015.
The Green Wedge Management Plan (GWMP) is Council's strategy for the future of its portion of the South East Green Wedge. The plan provides a clear vision, objectives and actions for the future of the Green Wedge for the next 15-20 years.
Council adopted the GWMP at it's Ordinary Meeting of Council on 8 December 2014. Since this meeting, Council has adopted Amendment C143 to the Greater Dandenong Planning Scheme at it's Ordinary Meeting of Council on 12 December 2016. This amendment adopts the GWMP as a reference document and updates Green Wedge local policy with track changes as requested by Planning Panels Victoria.
