Artist Call Outs and Opportunities

The City of Greater Dandenong recognises the significant importance of investing in the arts and cultural heritage and partners with artists, both emerging and experienced, on a regular basis.

Greater Dandenong has a number of opportunities available to artists, including:

  • 9 by 5 exhibition: commemorate the original 1989 exhibition held at Buxton’s of Swanston Street and is open to artists of all levels.

  • Home (formerly Home and Art): provides artists from asylum seeker and refugee backgrounds an opportunity to participate in an exhibition that celebrates the unique social and cultural fabric of Australia.

  • Short Cuts Film Festival: this annual film festival is a fantastic platform for local community members, emerging artists and accomplished industry professionals to share their stories.

  • Artist in Residence program: provides a unique opportunity for artists to step away from their usual surroundings for a period of intense focus on their practice at one of Greater Dandenong's arts facilities.
