HOME presents works that celebrate the important contribution that refugee and asylum seekers make to the cultural and social fabric of Australia.
Five artists will be shortlisted from the applications received. Shortlisted artists will be offered financial support of $1000 (courtesy of IKEA Springvale) for the creation and delivery of new artworks for the exhibition.
Each shortlisted artist will be provided with a negotiated opportunity for mentoring with an experienced artist or curator for the purpose of professional development.
Exhibiting artists may be offered further opportunity to participate in the City of Greater Dandenong’s Artist in Residence program.
Artworks may be produced in any medium including but not limited to painting, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, video, photography and drawing. Artists are invited to create work based on the refugee or asylum seeker experience.

Images that provide examples of the artist’s previous artwork. A maximum of 5 artworks and should include between 1 - 2 images of each work.
Applications will be reviewed by the Arts and Cultural Development Team and shortlisted artists will be invited to participate in the exhibition. To apply please fill in the online form below.

Conditions of entry
Eligible artists will have arrived in Australia after 1 January 1990
All artworks must be the original works of the artist
Artworks must be no larger than 2m (w) by 2m (h) due to gallery design
One application per artist will be accepted
Incomplete entries will not be accepted
All applications must arrive at Walker Street Gallery & Arts Centre by midnight, Sunday 15 July 2018.
Walker Street Gallery & Arts Centre will notify all successful and unsuccessful artists of the selection outcome
