Dog Off-Leash Consultation

Council is reviewing its Dog Off-Leash Strategy with a view to increasing the number of dog off-leash that are in Greater Dandenong.

The plan is to make sure off-leash areas are evenly distributed and accessible for all residents. According to Council figures the most popular suburbs for owning a dog are Keysborough, Dandenong North and Noble Park, so these areas are where we are focusing our efforts.

Below is a map with all of our current (areas in purple) and proposed (areas in orange) dog off-leash areas.

Each area is categorised based on size - small, medium/large and very large. Please see the table below for further information on each category. You can access information about each dog off-leash area by clicking on the coloured area on the map. For best results zoom into the map.

Council has developed a draft method for choosing new dog off-leash areas based on whether the park:

Based on the above draft method we have identified 10 parks that are potentially appropriate for new off-leash areas.





Council is keen to hear from community members about the location of current parks and the proposed locations of new parks.
