Council cleans up at Sustainability Awards

28 September 2017

The City of Greater Dandenong has cleaned up at this year’s Keep Victoria Beautiful Sustainable City Awards.

The Council won four awards for projects including its Pop-up Drive Thru Recycling days, Sustainability Strategy and its #msnobutts anti-litter campaign.

Council also won the overall Sustainable Council Award.

Greater Dandenong Mayor Cr Jim Memeti said Council should be incredibly proud of its efforts.

“To be recognised as a leading Council in this space is incredibly gratifying,” he said.

“Council is passionate about the environment and award recognition such as this shows Council is on track to achieve its goal of becoming one of Australia’s most sustainable cities by 2030.”

The awards were presented at a ceremony at Collingwood Town Hall last week.
