Help us shape the future of Dandenong Oasis
04 October 2017
Greater Dandenong Council is calling on the community to play its part in shaping the future of Dandenong Oasis.
Greater Dandenong Mayor Councillor Jim Memeti said this much-loved community facility was now nearing the end of its effective life and Council was planning a new and improved centre for the future.
“Dandenong Oasis is one of two aquatic centres in Greater Dandenong that services the diverse needs of our community” he said.
“To assist us in our planning we are inviting the community to complete a survey telling us what they want from an aquatic and leisure centre.”
“Feedback from this survey will be one of many considerations that will inform the future direction of Dandenong Oasis.”
Cr Memeti said Dandenong Oasis had been servicing the aquatic and leisure needs of residents in the City of Greater Dandenong for four decades.
He said it was built in 1976 and underwent a major development in 1991 and further upgrades in 2003.
“Dandenong Oasis is recognised as Council’s premier indoor aquatic facility,” Cr Memeti said.
“It is complemented by the Noble Park Aquatic Centre (NPAC) which primarily provides outdoor aquatic opportunities.”
Hard copy surveys will also be available from Council’s customer service centres, Greater Dandenong Libraries, Dandenong Oasis, Noble Park Aquatic Centre and Springers Leisure Centre.
For those who do not wish to complete a survey, Council would still love to hear from you. You can email feedback to firstname.lastname@example.org or provide your comments over the phone by calling 8571 1000.
