Food Services (Meals on Wheels)
Menus and meals
Seasonal menus based on a four week rotation are provided. Each day recipients can choose a main meal, a side dish, a sweet, fruit or yoghurt and also receive a soup and juice.
The meal portions fulfill guidelines set by the Home and Community Care (HACC) program and are in line with the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating and Dietary Guidelines for Australians.
Meals are prepared by a state-of-the-art purpose built facility in Altona, which was established by 20 Victorian local governments.
Delivery of meals
Cook-chilled meals are delivered from a purpose built distribution centre within the municipality. They are delivered to homes by community volunteers who generously give their time to help others.
