I have lived in Greater Dandenong almost all my life and currently reside in Dandenong with my husband of 50 years, Barry. I am committed to developing the city’s future and addressing resident’s needs and would like to achieve a number of goals during my time as a Councillor.
The opportunity to represent the residents of one of Australia’s most vibrant municipalities is one I take very seriously. My most important role as a Councillor is to represent each and everyone of you who make our city a better place.
Teamwork is vital in us achieving success and I know together we will achieve great things for this community. Together with my fellow councillors I am confident we can continue our work on a number of important projects, most notably the Municipal Building Project. This significant project will help further develop our city as a vibrant, connected and modern place to live and work and will allow Council to better serve the community.
I am committed to developing the city’s future and addressing resident’s needs, including upgrading Council facilities for the benefit of residents. I want to increase positive perceptions of safety within the city and reverse inaccurate negative stigmas attached to crime and drugs. I am also particularly interested in continuing my work with the Dandenong and District Aborigines Cooperative and ensuring we continue to support all sectors of our community, particularly our youth.
Lobbying the State and Federal Governments to fund community services within the city is a priority for me.
With years of community involvement behind me, I plan to continue to work with the community to achieve better outcomes for the city and want to work to upgrade all council facilities for the benefit of the residents of Greater Dandenong.
I am a life member of the North Dandenong Cricket Club and a patron and public officer of the Bunjil Aboriginal Dance Group. I am also involved in a number of charity organisations both within and outside the city and life governor of the Freemasons Homes (Darvall Lodge) and Hospital.
