Greater Dandenong's Committment to Disability

Our commitment

The City of Greater Dandenong's Disability Policy and Disability Action Plan 2017-23 highlights Council’s commitment to access and inclusion for all people, and outlines Council’s response to various legislative responsibilities including the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.

Greater Dandenong has a strong commitment to the empowerment of individuals from all groups and provides a number of services that seek to strengthen the capacity of the community. The Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 provides an overarching framework for all of the City of Greater Dandenong’s decisions. Council is committed to expanding its knowledge to successfully engage with people with disability as employees, customers and stakeholders.

To assist in this process we have become a Silver Member of the Australian Network on Disability (AND).

About the Australian Network on Disability (AND)

The Australian Network on Disability (AND) is a not-for-profit organisation resourced by its members to advance the inclusion of people with disability in all aspects of business. We help our members and clients to welcome people with disability as employees, customers and suppliers.

Our highly skilled disability consultants come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds, meaning we will always provide you with the consultant with the most relevant skills and experience for your organisation's specific situation.

We are not an employment agency, and do not find jobs for people with disability. Rather, we work with our member organisations so that they become more confident and prepared to welcome people with disability into their organisations.
