Geoffrey Carson Reserve, Keysborough Playground Proposal

The City of Greater Dandenong is planning to replace the old playground with a new local playground.

The playground in Geoffrey Carson Reserve will be designed to encourage active, challenging, imaginative and social play for both younger and older children.

The upgrade to the playground area includes:

  • A new local playground
  • Rubber surfaced access paths to the swings and other equipment to improve all ability access
  • A picnic table, park seating and bike hoop
  • Tree planting

Council is seeking local residents feedback on the equipment ideas (see images) or other suggestions you may have. Any thoughts or suggestions may help inform the direction of the concept design and selection of the playground equipment.

Ideas and opportunities for the playground

For the location of each element, see the playground map below.

1. Basket swing
2. Double swing (includes toddler swing)
3. Rotating carousel with handles
4. See-saw
5. Spring riders
6. Play Activity Tower with elements such as:

  • climbing rope nets, monkey bars or climbing walls
  • flexible gangways and ladders
  • platform decks at different heights
  • 1 or 2 slides (different heights)
  • integrated play panels such as a shop front, driving wheel etc.
  • interactive elements - noughts and crosses, sliding elements
