Coronavirus Update (COVID-19) Council Closures and Cancellations
08 April 2020
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Greater Dandenong Council has closed all Council Customer Service Centres, libraries, arts venues and leisure and aquatic centres and cancelled all Council events, workshops and activities.
Council has made the difficult decision to temporarily close all Council Customer Service Centres to walk-in customers.
Libraries, arts venues and leisure and aquatic centres are now closed until further notice. This includes:
Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre
Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens
Noble Park Aquatic Centre
Springers Leisure Centre
Dandenong Basketball Stadium
Gloria Pyke Netball Stadium
Paddy O’Donoghue Centre and Jan Wilson Community Centre remain open for essential services only.
We encourage customers to use our online services or phone us on 8571 1000 for any assistance. Our call centre remains fully operational.
Council has not taken these decisions lightly but has done so in the interests of the health and wellbeing of our community, which is paramount.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
The State Government has declared Victoria to be in a State of Emergency for the next four weeks. The Government has also banned gatherings of more than 500 people outdoors and 100 people indoors and asked Victorians to avoid all non-essential gatherings of any size. For this reason all Council events, workshops and activities have been cancelled until the end of April.
