Summer Reading Club

The Summer Reading Club is a national initiative aimed at encouraging children to read books.

This year’s theme ‘A Roomful of Stories’ encourages children, young people and families to engage with stories and the language in which they are told. Stories are everywhere, waiting to be discovered.

A Roomful of Stories celebrates the International Year of Indigenous Language (IYIL) with a focus on the use of oral language story telling.

Participation in the Summer Reading Club is free. There are some fun activities and competitions to enter, so come join in the fun.

Key dates:

  • Sunday 1 December 2019 - Summer Reading Club begins and registrations open
  • Tuesday 28 January 2020 - Reading Log and competition entries close 9pm
  • Saturday 1 February 2020 - Summer Reading Club Prize Presentation
